What was your first job?
I worked in a milk bar flipping burgers, stacking shelves and
stuffing chickens.
What did you get paid?
$3.50 an hour and let me tell you, I worked for every cent. My
first boss was tough but he gave me a good work ethic.
Are you a saver or a spender?
I'm a spender, my mum is a saver.
What do you spend your money on?
I'm terrible with clothes and I also spend a fortune on my
four-legged best friends. I have three dogs and they're spoilt
rotten.
What was your worst purchase?
I have splurged on a few sparkly items that my jewellery box
easily could have survived without. Diamonds can be a girl's best
friend, it's true, but not when they eat into your bank
balance.
Credit cards are: a) great; b) helpful; c) a poor
investment; d) work of the devil.
d) work of the devil.
Why?
I don't use them at all. I have one debit Visa. I got myself in
trouble with credit once and for many years now I have owed
absolutely nothing. It's a great feeling.
Does budgeting work for you?
Yes, I think it works for everyone when you actually stick to
it.
What's the best piece of investment advice you have
heard?
Never put all your eggs in one basket.
What's the best piece of investment advice you have
actually acted upon?
If you don't have it, don't borrow it.
If I was given $20,000 I would buy ...
property.
If I was given $20,000 I would invest in ...
art or shares. The market is so down at the moment - I figure it's
a good time to get in the game. Before I joined Neighbours, I took
a course in CFD trading. I'm still studying the market and playing
with small trades.
